Scott Wentz is an industry-leading homebuilding executive and workforce development advocate based in Charlotte, NC. He co-founded True Homes in 2007, helping the company achieve national recognition. Scott also founded Builders Bridge, a nonprofit creating pathways into the homebuilding industry, and serves as Board Chair of the National Housing Endowment’s Homebuilding Education and Leadership Program. The True Homes Foundation’s flagship scholarship was renamed in his honor in 2025. Known for his strategic vision, passion for talent development, and community impact, Scott continues to shape the way homes are built — and the way people build careers.

Scott has been married to his wife Lou for 22 years, and they have three grown children and three grandchildren, all of whom live in Fort Mill. Their youngest daughter is currently in college at Indiana University, making them new empty nesters. Scott moved to Charlotte in 2007 from Indiana, where he was born and raised. He grew up in Brownsburg, a small town west of Indianapolis, and attended Purdue University. Scott loves Charlotte for its unique opportunities and potential for significant achievements. He enjoys outdoor activities such as boating, fishing, hunting, and hiking. A lifelong Colts fan, Scott is also trying to support the Panthers. He is enthusiastic about working with others to create and accomplish significant projects through collaboration and bold action.
